The casino is open from 5 a.m. We are grateful for the overwhelming support, patience, and understanding from our customers through these unprecedented times. In November 2009, Ohio voters approved a measure that would allow for four casinos to be established in the state, one each in Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland and Toledo. The casinos were expected to generate $600 million in revenue, with fees collected there to be redistributed to school districts and local governments in the state.
Ohio's casinos and racinos will soon be reopened for business.
On Friday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that the state's casinos and racinos have been permitted to reopen on June 19. DeWine said the approval comes after the state's casino industry submitted a plan to implement safety measures to address the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Additionally, on Friday, DeWine announced that amusement and water parks will be permitted to reopen on June 19 and that the PGA's Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio will be allowed to host fans from July 13-19.
On March 13, DeWine issued an order banning mass gatherings of more than 100 people. The ban also required the state's casinos and racinos to close down, including the JACK Casino in downtown Cleveland.
In May, Ohio began the process of reopening its economy with several industries being given the go-ahead to reopen in a staggered fashion and with safety measures in place. With more than 90 percent of the state's economy reopened, casinos and racinos marked one of the last to be given the green light to open back up.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton have the latest on the coronavirus pandemic.
